Subject to Change
1. Be respectful to everyone! We will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. of any kind. Racism is allowed with in-game species ICly.
2. Do not bring in hot or heavy topics such as politics, religion, personal IRL issues into the server. You’re free to discuss privately with each other, but please be civil about any disagreements and be kind in offering to take a conversation to DMs.
3. You must be 18+ in order to visit or be hired! But please, refrain from anything overly sexual in IC or OOC. If we find out that there's any minors attending, they will be removed from the server and staff will be notified to not contact them.
4. If anyone requests for a conversation to end, please do so. If you feel that it is a subject that should be allowed, please bring it up to a Council Member so we can make the final call. Until then, do not continue to insist and persist. That said, if anyone ever makes you uncomfortable, but you’re unsure if you’re being unreasonable or that it’s not that big an issue, please report it and keep records.
5. Mercenaries can be rude and crude. While you should always be respectful and polite to everyone OOCly, expect some “mean” interactions in RP. Do not take it to heart. Do not confuse IC with OOC by getting upset about something that happened in RP. BUT if you are uncomfortable with something, feel free to discuss it OOCly to make a compromise of the situation. BUT, don't use this rule to avoid in-character consequences for your in-character actions. If you don’t want punishment for the consequences of your character’s actions, don’t let them do those actions.
6. Fighting is only allowed within the cage.
7. We have zero tolerance for harassment or trolling of any kind, even outside the venue. If we find out about harassment from you of any kind, you will be removed and have no contact from staff, especially if proof is provided.
Staff
All Management will have the /lfp status.

All other Staff will have the /lfm status.

Management
The Mercenaries Union tavern is run by the Council Members. If you ever have questions or concerns, contact any who are available. Management will have the /LFP status icon during opening hours.
Quest Givers/Greeters
One of the first faces you'll see upon entering in the Quest Giver who'll greet you upon entry and give a brief explanation where everything is. And, if you want mercenary work, they're the person to talk to.
Bartenders/Baristas
Baristas tend to the patrons on the top floor while the bartenders serve the patrons in the bottom floor.
Security
The Mercenaries Tavern is meant to be a safe place. Thus, to ensure everything stays in order, security is in place to settle any disputes outside the cage and to offer answers to questions.
Cage Master
The Cage Master keeps track of all who will participate, the winning pot, and serve as the announcer.
Floaters
Nervous about chatting with new people? Our floaters, should they have no other tasks for the night, are happy to keep an eye out for someone sitting along to come up and chat.
Quest Hub
The Mercenaries Union is an extension of the Eorzean Alliance's Adventurers' Guild and provides quests for mercenaries of all experiences. Simply talk to the Quest Giver at the Guildleve table at the entrance if you wish to sign up for any quests that catch your interest. Quests will change and/or rotate every few months or so. If you would like to hire the Mercenaries Union or offer a quest to be posted on the board, please discuss with the Quest Giver a good time to hold a meeting to discuss it!
OOC Notes:
- All quests are paid in IC gil and not OOC gil at this moment while we are still new and building up activity ad profits.
- Quest items marked with Required are items that are used towards the venue's menu items in the hopes of helping us increase the profit margin so we can be able to OOCly provide pay for all staff in the near future and hopefully, be able to pay OOC for quests.. If this is something you are not comfortable with, the quests not marked with Required will only have you trade with the Quest Giver to confirm you have acquired said items but the Quest Giver will not accept them)

Cage Match Rules
The cagematch is open to any who wish to participate by speaking to the Cage Master to sign up.
All fights must take part within the cage and fights must remained sheathed. If warnings from security are ignored, you will no longer be served by staff.
Do not attempt to kill or seriously maim your opponent or do anything that will alter them in anyway permanently. You will be automatically disqualified and escorted out of the cage by security.
Do not humiliate your opponent (i.e. doing overly ridiculous attacks or making chastising comments). You're welcome to give a public roasting and showboat with your opponent for show if they've shown to be comfortable with that kind of entertainment for the crowd.
Do not enter the cage if you are not fighting, even after the match is over. The staff will escort any injured to the nearby med area. You are welcome to heal if the fighter(s) is comfortable with you doing it over staff.
Fight Order
This is the general process on how fights go but on special nights when we have specific competition modes, they may be altered.
Both opponents will generally have 3 HP.
Both opponents will roll a /random to decide initiative. The person who rolls highest will emote first (this person will be clarified as Fighter A from here on, and the second player will be Fighter B).
Fighter A will emote their attack against Fighter B, then roll /random as an attack roll. Player B will roll /random to defend.
If Fighter A's attack roll is higher, then they manage to land their attack on Fighter B and Fighter B loses 1 HP.
If Fighter B's defense roll is higher, then they lose no HP. They will emote their block and counterattack in the same emote. Then Fighter B will /random their attack roll while Fighter A will /random in defense.
This order continues until one fighter is hit 3 times.
